Okay. So I am slow. I think you all know that by now. And I am great about coming up with brainiac ideas and unrealistic time frames.

"Oh yea! I can have all the Cetapath albums and pages and links and everything done in a week and then I will post that and that is like, I dunno, 60 releases! Wow!"

Right... that'll just take me what, um, 15 minutes. Or something.

So here is update #2... sincerest apologies about the delay. I know you were losing sleep over it.

NEWS:
The earliest Cetapath releases, under the name Chillchill, are complete and available for download. There are 44 Cetapath releases also available on ampdistro... but the nice HTML pages are not quite up yet... Soon...

The rough count of albums with catalogue numbers from the participating labels is now 380. And that count is just the eight labels across the header... which means that not included are all the amazing self-released albums by some of my favorite artists... from the boys on Whitepine and their many endeavors; to the earliest shit from the Sonicterror Crew - Rusuden, Line 47, Enduser, and Pale; and then the cincinnati musik that inspired me back in highschool - Trashcan Philosophers, Soft Cactus, and My Friend Kevin... It'll all be here in time...

ALBUM REVIEW:
The album of the week is "The Lowest Tech" from Shapethrower. Released back in 1999, I first heard this album during the fall of 2000. And this is still the album that defines Shapethrower and the sound of Ray Ogar for me. Fourty-five minutes of deconstructing digital clicks and pop posing as percussion with wind-like synth pads hovering just below the surface as Skynet-style machines malfunction in the background.

I remember being in to 1990's electronic musik (enter en vogue british electronic musik artist name here), but this was something else entirely. This was electronic musik. Nothing about this musik sounded remotely like an instrument a person could play. The darkened deserts of Texas after our artificial intelligence becomes a bit to friendly...

Oh, and as Ray once told me, the digital clicks are on purpose. These are not poorly encoded *.mp3 files. It is exactly the way it is supposed to sound. Give it a minute to take it in and absorb. In time it will all make sense.
